Growing Rochester Dental Clinic Adds Two New Dentists – Post Bulletin

ROCHESTER — A Rochester dental clinic run by a Med City native is celebrating its sixth anniversary this month and tripling its staff from one dentist to three.

Dr. Matt Penz started Penz Dental Care in 2016 in Suite 110 of the Uptown Square Building at 2001 Second St. SW with two staff members.

Penz Dental has experienced significant growth since its opening. To meet the growth of its clientele, the clinic has added two new dentists – Dr. Christina Pauley and Dr. David Wold – to staff this month.

“We weren’t actively looking for dentists to join us. It just happened where these two amazing people wanted to come to work, and it happened simultaneously. It was super fun,” said Kate Penz, Dr. Penz’s wife who is also the clinic’s marketing manager.

Dr. Pauley is from Rochester, who previously worked at Penz Dental in the front office before going to dental school. When she graduated, she returned to the clinic.

Coincidentally, Dr. Pauley’s return happened just before Dr. Wold reconnected with Dr. Penz during further training. The two attended dental school at the University of Minnesota together.

“Adding Drs. Pauley and Wold will allow us to see more patients. Both have the same philosophy and similar training as Dr. Penz. We now have the ability to connect with our patients more quickly,” Kate said. Penz: “I think that’s a huge benefit for our patients.”

Penz Dental now has 10 employees, including the three dentists. Kate Penz said she was looking to hire a few employees to help support the larger team.
