The ENT clinic acquires new specialized pediatric equipment funded by a $100,000 donation from Valero Energy Corporation as part of the company’s 2021 Child Allowance. Equipment includes pediatric endoscopes, an audiometer used to diagnose hearing loss, and a tympanometer used to assess middle ear function and determine if pressure equalization (PE) tubes are needed, a common medical procedure required in some children to help reduce ear infections.
“We are very grateful to Valero Energy Corporation for their generous donation. Their support enables St. Charles Parish Hospital to continue to provide high quality health care in our community, including to our youngest patients. With the new space, we will now be able to care for and treat patients of all ages with medical ear, nose and throat conditions right here in our parish,” said Keith Dacus, chief executive of St. Charles.
In addition to specialized ENT equipment, Valero Energy Corporation donated $100,000 to the Ochsner Hospital for Children Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development through Benefit for Children and issued $10,000 in fuel cards to CSHP employees totaling $210,000 in in-kind support for Ochsner Health in 2021.
