KARACHI: The main defendant behind the shooting at the dental clinic in Karachi was arrested on Friday.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), the accused belonged to the banned Sindh Revolutionary Army (SRA).
Raids were carried out for the arrest of his accomplices.
The accused entered the dental clinic and shot dead a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin and injured two doctors.
Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has told the media that a sad incident happened at Saddr Dental Clinic, Karachi.
“A doctor was killed and two others were injured because of the terrorists’ fire,” he added. “The terrorists were stopped thanks to a joint action of the institutions,” he said.
“The police are doing a good job. The movement of the terrorists was examined by CCTV footage,” he told media.
He added that the Chief Minister of Sindh had instructed the Inspector General of Sindh Police (IGP) to arrest the killers. He said the CTD monitors the movement of terrorists with cameras using modern technology and arrests them.
“The weapons and the motorbike that were used in the incident were recovered from terrorist Waqar Khushk,” he said. “Those who look down on Pakistan will have to bite the dust. The Sindh Police are not standing idle,” he warned.
“The terrorists want to sow panic in Pakistan. The CTD and other agencies had investigated the incident. Other investigations of the terrorist Waqar Khushk were ongoing,” he added.
