Baton Rouge Pediatrics benefits from new partnership between Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and Cleveland Clinic

New Orleans Children’s Hospital and Cleveland Clinic will partner to expand access to pediatric radiology experts for Louisiana families, the companies announced today.

Affiliation will promote access to pediatric-trained radiologists and benefit all Children’s Hospital sites, including radiology coverage at the hospital’s specialty clinic in Baton Rouge, says Kristen Robinson of LCMC Health System which includes the New Orleans Hospital.

Through this partnership, a team of 16 pediatricians and neuroradiologists from the Cleveland Clinic will complement the existing pediatric radiology team at Children’s Hospital New Orleans.

The partnership also supports the children’s hospital’s pediatric trauma program, which is the only such program in the region, according to the LCMC. The trauma program pursues accreditation from the American College of Surgeons.

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health has signed a non-binding letter of intent to explore opportunities for collaboration with New Orleans Children’s Hospital, both parties announcement in May. Officials said the agreement could lead the two organizations to work more closely together in delivering pediatric health services in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

“New Orleans Children’s Hospital has had no discussions with OLOL Children’s regarding this new radiology affiliation,” Robinson said via email. “Our teams will address this issue as part of the ongoing discovery process.”
