Sandra Lee does everything she can to make sure she is healthy.

The Food Network star, 56, announced on Instagram on Sunday that she was taking a “solo health week” and traveling to Baden-Baden, a city in Germany known as a popular healthcare destination with top medical specialists and clinics.

“On our last night in Santorini, I had to take a picture of Ben’s reaction when I told him I wasn’t going home with him and was going for a solo health week in Baden- Baden, Germany,” Lee wrote alongside a photo of herself. boyfriend Ben Youcefthe reaction to the news.

The Semi-home cooking with Sandra Lee star has been very open about her health journey over the years.

In March, Lee underwent a hysterectomy and shared details of her experience and recovery on social media.

“Surgery is never fun, but day 3 for me is always the worst day for me. Yesterday (my 3rd day) was pretty rough,” Lee wrote.

“All I remember is throwing up all day,” she continued, describing how she was “so sick, I threw up and cried” and how her boyfriend did trying his best to take care of her, “trying to get me to drink or eat or whatever.”

“It wasn’t an easy day for any of us,” added Lee. “So at 5 am I was on my way to the hospital – of course. The ER chief (whom I love) said I had some kind of infection and my kidneys were only working at 30% (due to excessive dehydration, I guess).”

She went on to say that she was awaiting the culture and blood tests and that being treated in hospital made her feel “much better”.

“The surgeries are so brutal, but I’m still glad I did it. Once they got the IV, wonderful anti-nausea medication, I felt so much better,” she wrote. era. A few days earlier, she had admitted that the operation had been “a little difficult” but that she felt “grateful that it was the end of one chapter and the beginning of another”.

The procedure comes seven years after Lee suffered a double mastectomy, which led to an infection that initially delayed reconstructive surgery. She underwent a double mastectomy in May 2015 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in March of that year.

In August 2015, Lee was rushed to hospital infection following the mastectomy, for which she was treated with antibiotics. “She tried hard to avoid the operation, but was unsuccessful,” her rep said. said at the time. “She just wants to finish this part of her life and be healthy and well.
