THOSE who are curious about where they come from will have the opportunity to discover their past through a community reading group.
The Heritage and Family History Center is hosting a counseling clinic on Thursday, September 15, a one-on-one session with a seasoned counselor.
The team of volunteers will help visitors navigate the often overwhelming amount of information and resources available online and in person to answer any questions residents may have about their heritage or that of their community.
The group is run by the Berkshire Family History Society, a registered charity, which strives to meet the needs of those researching their ancestry in the UK and overseas.
It also helps people looking for ancient relatives in historic Berkshire.
The free event takes place from 11am to 2.15pm on the second floor of Reading Central Library.
Reservations should be made at least seven days in advance to give advisors enough time to research quotes.
The organizers recommend that visitors book as early as possible, to allow their team to search the archives as thoroughly as possible.
