A medical clinic is planned on the first floor of a building on Pine Street long associated by residents with a gym.
The One Medical facility in 22 Pine Street will include “all uses incidental to a primary care medical practice,” according to an application filed with the Planning and Zoning Commission, such as blood collection and laboratory services.
“One Medical’s modern, hospitality-focused approach to healthcare provides a unique platform for consumers to maintain their health and well-being in convenient and highly accessible places,” said the application, filed by Alan Montufar, lead designer at Seattle-based CallisonRTKL. Inc. “We look forward to bringing this convenience and quality to New Canaan residents and workers.”
Under the New Canaan Zoning Regulations, general and medical offices not exceeding 10,000 square feet are permitted in Commercial Zone A with site plan approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission (see page 78 here).
The building at 22 Pine had undergone a major metamorphosis by becoming Oxygen fitness in 2013, then COMBINE-X Fitness (whose owners announced last summer they were renaming House of Telos and receiving P&Z approval move to Forest Street).
P&Z is expected to address the site plan request for One Medical at its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Approximately 10-12 patients should be on site at the medical clinic at all times, depending on the application. Hours of operation are expected to be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
