MercyOne transfers rural clinic from Hartley to Spencer

HARTLEY, Iowa (KCAU) – MercyOne’s Hartley Community Memorial Health Center will be moving its services to another location outside of Hartley.

According to a statement from Hartley Family Care, the Family Practice Clinic will transfer its practices to Spencer Hospital and be renamed Hartley Family Care of Spencer Hospital.

The statement said the operations would be handled in conjunction with Avera Medical Group Spencer (AMGS). They expect services to be comparable to practices in Milford and Sioux Rapids which have served their communities for more than 20 years.

“We enjoyed our relationship with MercyOne and the services it provided,” said Community Memorial Health Center Board Chair Colleen Paulsen, “Given the number of members of our community who use a wide range of Spencer-based medical services, our board members I think aligning local primary care services with Spencer Hospital makes sense for the communities we serve.

Services that Hartley Family Care will provide local family care as well as laboratory diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy services. At the time of publication, there is no scheduled opening date while they finalize the transition of the clinic space to Spencer Hospital as well as the hiring of professionals.

Hartley Family Care’s opening date, new care provider and appointment information will be provided as preparations are completed, according to hospital spokeswoman Susan Zulk. .
