Registrations for Easter junior tennis camp excite the Ikoyi club | The Guardian Nigeria News

Registration for this year’s Easter Holiday Junior Tennis Clinic, organized by the tennis section of the Ikoyi Club, exceeded organizers’ expectations.

Parents, coaches and guardians of aspiring tennis players have turned up at the club to register their wards for the clinic which is due to start tomorrow.

While children of club members pay N3,000 for registration, non-members pay N5,000 to participate in the five-day event.
The annual Junior Tennis Tournament is held for boys and girls ages 5-16 with the support of Leadway Assurance Company.

Tennis section president Akeem Mustafa said this weekend that registration for the event showed that it would be a huge pleasure for participants.

“The more players we have, the better it is for the children and also for the atmosphere. We are pleased with the huge response from parents for the clinic so far, which means the clinic would be exciting,” said Mustafa said.

Tennis Section Captain Ekene Nwaokolo also said preparations were perfect for the start of the clinic, adding that some members of the club, who have traveled out of Lagos, have called to register their wards for the clinic/tournament. of tennis.

In the 2021 edition of the junior tennis tournament, Benjamin Okoronkwo beat Tele Orungbenja 7/5, 10/8 to become champion of the Boys U-16 event, while Modupe Akinyemi beat Omosofe Akpata 7/3, 7 /4 for girls U -16 category.
