Rio Salado Dental Clinic offers free dental care to Arizona veterans on Saturday

PHOENIX – Saturday is Armed Forces Day in the United States, and the Rio Salado College Dental Hygiene Clinic is hosting a free event to celebrate.

Arizona veterans can receive free dental cleanings, dentures, fillings, oral surgery and crowns Saturday until 3 p.m. with registration at the Rio Salado Conference Center, according to a news release.

The clinic partnered with Arizona Mission of Mercy and the Central Arizona Dental Society Foundation to host the event.

“There are too many veterans falling through the cracks, struggling to live their daily lives, and needing help,” said Dr. Ann Hammi Blue, periodontist in Phoenix and board chair. administration of the CADS Foundation, in a press release.

“Having good dental health gives veterans a chance to focus on things other than pain or infection, helps them better access potential jobs, and reminds them of the respect and gratitude we feel for their service to our country.”

Students and dental hygiene professionals will be on hand to provide services to more than 115 veterans, according to the release.

The Rio Salado Dental Clinic is located at 2250 14th Street in Tempe.
