People recovering from sports injuries can benefit from a new injury and rehabilitation clinic at the University of Northampton.

The Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Clinic (SIRC) is open to the public, staff and students of the University of Northampton – and you can now book your appointment online.

The clinic provides people with effective and affordable health care delivered by students of the University’s Sports Rehabilitation and Conditioning Diploma, who are supervised by a fully qualified clinic supervisor to ensure safe and healthy standards and practices are maintained. professionals.

Brendon Skinner, Lecturer in Sports Rehabilitation and Conditioning, said: “We are delighted to be opening our clinic on campus and being able to provide healthcare services to our students, staff and the wider Northamptonshire community.

“We look forward to providing people with affordable access to healthcare services, while providing our students with an environment to learn and become the next generation of athletic rehabilitation graduates.”

Students are trained in the delivery of treatments including: injury assessments, manual therapy, joint mobilizations, stretching, exercise rehabilitation, taping, electrotherapy and sports massage.

The clinic offers services to help a range of athletic and everyday musculoskeletal conditions, injuries and complaints.

Services include an initial consultation, follow-up assessment and treatment, sports massage, rehabilitation and recovery sessions.

The cost for University staff and students, and Super 7 staff, is £12.50 for 30 minutes and £20 for one hour. The cost for the public is £15 for 30 minutes and £25 for an hour.
