Texas Children’s Pediatrics celebrated the launch of its new practice in Fulshear with a ribbon cutting on September 30.

The new clinic, which opened Sept. 13, is the 64th pediatric pediatrics location in Texas, with 50 such clinics in Houston, 13 in Austin and one in College Station.

The event drew patient families and hospital leaders, including Michelle Riley-Brown, executive vice president and president of Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus and Texas Children’s Hospital-The Woodlands; Daniel Gollins, president of Texas Children’s Pediatrics; Dr. Stan Spinner, chief medical officer of Texas Children’s Pediatrics and Texas Children’s Urgent Care; and Texas Children’s Pediatrics-Fulshear Chief Medical Officer Dr. Alexander Gonzalez.

Fulshear Mayor Aaron Groff also attended the dedication and, along with Texas Children’s trustees, delivered a brief address to the assembled families. He presented a proclamation from the city of Fulshear noting September 30 as “Texas Children’s Pediatrics Day” on behalf of the city of Fulshear. Fulshear City Council members Sarah Johnson, Jason Knape, Debra Cates. Paula Gibson, district manager for state Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, also attended the event.

CEO/Chairman Mark A. Wallace described the journey as “incredible” and that hospital leaders made all decisions knowing that Fulshear is one of the fastest growing communities in the region.

“We knew families in this community would need access to high-quality pediatric care, and all of us at Texas Children’s promised to provide just that,” Wallace said.

Texas Children’s Pediatrics-Fulshear, located at 6623 W. Cross Creek Bend Lane, provides convenient, high-quality pediatric care for all children, from birth to 18 years old. Pediatrician Dr. Christopher Neumann joins Gonzalez in treating patients at this clinic.

Gollins said Texas Children’s Pediatrics is excited to expand its care to Fulshear and surrounding towns, including Sealy and Columbus. He said specialized pediatric services are in high demand. He also praised Dr. Gonzalez.

“Dr. Gonzalez has been a trusted and beloved pediatrician at Texas Children’s Pediatrics for more than a decade,” Gollins said. “His patients — old and new — are in safe hands as he launches our 50th practice. history in the Greater Houston area.”

Gonzalez said it was a privilege to join the Cross Creek Ranch community.

“I look forward to building lasting connections with my new patients and their caregivers, as well as continuing to provide trusted care to my established patients visiting the clinic from Katy,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said he is grateful to Texas Children’s for the opportunities given to him during his hospital career.

“I could never have accomplished everything I have in my career without the support and resources of the nation’s largest children’s hospital,” Gonzalez said.
