Tuskegee University and OnMed Announce Partnership to Provide Innovative Virtual Care Clinic and Services

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee University has partnered with virtual health company OnMed to deploy a custom OnMed Care Station on campus. The Tuskegee OnMed Care Station provides Tuskegee students, faculty, and staff with expanded access to most primary care services and reinforces the university’s commitment to improving the student experience through a expanded access to quality health care and complements their current student health center service.

Tuskegee’s investment in the OnMed virtual care platform is consistent with the goals and objectives of the university’s strategic plan. Additionally, thanks to the Tuskegee leadership of the Center for Rural Health and Economic Equity, the OnMed Care Station will be available at no cost to citizens of the community and Macon County.

We hope this pilot station will expand across Alabama’s black belt counties and provide health services to even more residents.

Tuskegee University’s OnMed Care Station features a fully custom Tuskegee University branded exterior located in the atrium of the Margaret Murray Washington Hall building, just inside the Lincoln Gates at the campus entrance. Students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public, can access the care station, providing patients with a quality healthcare option as well as normal student health center daytime hours. OnMed clinicians work with the University Health Center to coordinate necessary follow-up or extended care required. OnMed clinicians can prescribe medications via electronic prescriptions at the time of visit to the local pharmacy.
